The wait continues for local municipalities hoping to secure funding for key infrastructure upgrades. The first phase of the Federal-Ontario infrastructure program has been launched, with no confirmed projects for northwestern Ontario.
Kenora MP Bob Nault says the first two streams are based solely on improving transit services. However, Nault hopes to provide some good news on another funding front soon.
He says the infrastructure funding is being rolled out in phases, meaning, water and wastewater projects will be targeted in the next round. He is promising a number of local announcements in the weeks ahead, likely for Thunder Bay and Kenora. (File Photo)
