Inaugural Duck Hunt At Marina

The Alzheimer’s Society of Thunder Bay debuted their inaugural Duck Hunt event.

Eight teams competed in a scavenger hunt and were given clues to find rubber ducks at the Marina.

Executive Director Pamela Gerrie says while the event is about having fun, it was all in support of a good cause.

“All money stays here locally in Thunder Bay, and we support families and care partners working with someone with a diagnosis of dementia,” says Gerrie“ This money helps with the support programs we have with the Alzheimer’s Society and helps us support our clients and do fundraising events such as this.”

Gerrie hopes this can become an annual tradition.

“Hopefully next year it will be bigger and brighter out, and hopefully it won’t rain,” says “It’ll be a very successful and important event regardless.”

The clues led participants to various sights and monuments across the waterfront.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
