Northwestern Ontario residents are being asked to be on the lookout for a scam after an incident in Dryden.
Police say a couple received a call from someone posing as a Hydro One employee. The caller stated a $2,000 payment was required, or their hydro was going to be disconnected. Police say payment was to be made by Pay Power Visa cards through Western Union.
The transaction was stopped before it went through. Hydro One was contacted and stated they didn’t make those calls.
