The woman known as Hurricane Hazel, who spent 36 years as the mayor of Mississauga is coming to Thunder Bay. Hazel McCallion is speaking at a luncheon organized by the city’s age friendly committee.
Spokesperson Nancy Angus says it’s a chance to hear from a person who hasn’t let age get in the way of a successful career in politics. She says at the age of 95 McCallion continues to be a vital part of her community and to show that it’s “great to get older.”
The event happens November 15th at the Victoria Inn.
