Human Trafficking Awareness Recognized

It’s World Day Against Trafficking people.

Thunder Bay’s Coalition To End Human Trafficking spokesperson Kristal Carlson tells us they are trying to educate people that the illegal activity is a major problem in our community.

She says this morning they went to location businesses handing out flyers to “give them some basic facts about human trafficking.”

The organization says Thunder Bay is identified as one of the top six hubs for trafficking in Ontario.

Carlson explains “while 96 percent of human trafficking victims are women, there are both trans individuals and male individuals who are trafficked as well.”
