Today is the unofficial start of the holiday season.
Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce President Charla Robinson stresses this year is all about conducting sales safely and offering customers the option of online ordering as well as contactless delivery or pick-up.
Robinson says the Community Economic Development Commission deserves a lot of credit for helping local businesses adapt in tough times.
“They’ve been working with a lot of folks to offer the main street program. [This helps] with supports and some financial assistance to enable [businesses] build that online presence” Robinson says. “I certainly encourage everyone to look to their local businesses to see if they have options like online shopping as well as contactless curbside pick-up or delivery options.”
