Hospice Northwest is offering a free half-day caregivers workshop to anyone interested in Thunder Bay.
The new event called Navigating the River is taking place on Tuesday at Hilldale Lutheran Church.
The initiative is offering a chance for you to hear from speakers, meet other caregivers, and visit a vendor’s market showcasing local resources.
Northwest Dementia Working Group will also be presenting Navigating Dementia: What to do After a Diagnosis.
The presentation is a practical session for caregivers, whether you support someone living with dementia or other age-related health needs.
The session will also go over everyday care tips, how to find and use local supports, and ways to look after your own well-being, including examples, resource guidance, and a short question and answer period.
Participants can drop in for part of the workshop or stay for the whole event.
The event is running from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a light lunch is included.
For more information or to register for the workshops, contact Palliative and Caregiver Program Coordinator, Suzanne Nuorala by calling (807) – 626-5578 or emailing suzanne@hospicenorthwest.ca.
