Three Thunder Bay police officers will face hearings in 2022.
They are facing charges under the Ontario Police Services Act in connection to the investigation into the 2015 death of 41-year-old Stacy DeBungee.
Two officers will answer to neglect of duty and discreditable contact offenses while a third faces a single count of discreditable conduct.
The hearing schedule is as follows:
- Monday, May 30 to Friday, June 3
- Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10
- Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 17
- Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23
- Monday, September 26 to Thursday, September 29
The location of the hearings is still to be determined.
The initial investigation into the October 2015 death of the 41-year-old Anishinaabe man was deemed non-criminal within a day of his body being discovered.
The passing was singled out in the 2018 Broken Trust report into how the force handled cases involving Indigenous people.
Two of the officers are also accused of failing to treat or protect people equally during the case.
They first appeared in court back in April.
