There are currently three active outbreaks in Thunder Bay that the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is monitoring.
Chartwell Retirement Residence is dealing with a facility-wide enteric outbreak.
There are also two active COVID-19 outbreaks. The first is at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the 5 North Area, and the other is at Pioneer Ridge in Home Areas 2 and 3.
Southbridge Lakehead’s Norovirus outbreak on the fourth and fifth floors has been declared over, as well as Hogarth Riverview Manor’s unidentified respiratory outbreak in the 5 South Orchid Resident Home Area.
Outbreaks are declared at a facility when there is a higher-than-average rate of symptoms among the residents.
