Harmonica Allegedly Used In Robbery

A 23-year old Thunder Bay man is facing charges after police say a harmonica may have been used in a robbery.

They tell us they were called to the Delta Waterfront hotel New Years Day around 10:30pm, to find out a suspect had taken a front desk clerk’s cell phone. Police found the suspect showed a metal object presumed to be firearm, made threats, and fled after being confronted by the clerk.

Police then tracked the cell phone to the Red River Road and St. Paul Street area using GPS, and found the man nearby. Police add the man claimed to have used the harmonica in the robbery, and directed police to the cell phone and harmonica in a nearby lot.

The man, who is on probation, is charged with Robbery With An Offensive Weapon and Failure to Comply With a Court Order. He was in bail court Thursday.

Police add many phones and electronic devices now have GPS, and ask you do not try to retrieve a stolen item without their help.
