A recent foiled shooting plot in eastern Canada has refocused attention on a major law enforcement crime-solving tool.
The alleged plot to shoot people at a Halifax shopping mall a week ago was unravelled by police following a tip to Crime Stoppers
Spokesperson Susan Foote says anonymous calls and rewards have helped make it a success. She adds it’s even become popular on social media like Twitter and Facebook as a means of relaying a tip.
The anonymous tipster in the case of the Halifax plot will likely receive a cash reward that could run as high as $2,000.
