The Ontario government is investing an additional $1.4-million to help seniors who suffer from tremors.
Today, Health Minister Christine Elliott announced another 72 people over the age of 65 will receive treatment to help them drink a glass of water better, or fasten a button.
In the treatment, doctors use an MRI to guide ultrasound waves to the area of the brain where cells are that cause tremors, removing them.
The government adds while there is no cure for tremors, trials of this treatment has shown a 46% reduction in tremors, and it has a quicker recovery time than surgery and is less dangerous.
