Girl’s Death Sparks Talk Of Parade Safety

Parade safety is in the forefront after the death of a four year old girl in Nova Scotia.

The young victim in Yarmouth, MaCali Cormier, was running beside a float during the Santa Claus Parade when she was run over.

Greg Stephenson, the organizer of this weekend’s Parade of Lights in Thunder Bay, reminds those who plan to watch the parade, to stay safe.

Stephenson notes “something like this wakes everybody up.”

He suggests parents take extra precautions to make sure their children don’t wander onto the road during the parade.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
