Fort William First Nation says they plan on hammering down on CN to reopen the James Street Swing Bridge.
The comments come after an accident on Chippewa Road, Sunday, closed the only access route to and from the community. Chief Georjann Morrisseau says the situation could have put the First Nation in immediate risk.
She says if there were any emergencies during that time it would have put them in a difficult situation because they wouldn’t have been addressed because both entrances to the community were closed off. Morrisseau says CN should have opened the bridge for the time being, and figured out the 1906 agreement after the fact.
