A popular summer resort for the handicapped is getting a lot of attention these days.
The HAGI Wilderness Camp on Lake Shabandowan is going to close unless there’s an injection of cash from somewhere.
Executive Director Dave Shannon says his organization can’t afford the 800 thousand dollar cost of buying the camp or the 200 thousand dollars a year it costs to operate.
He says MPP Bill Mauro is working to find a solution, but there’s no indication what that might be.
Shannon says all indications from the province are they’d like to keep the operation as a public service for people with a disability in northwestern Ontario. (File photo)
