Parents of students attending two French-language schools in Thunder Bay need to make child-care arrangements for next week.
That’s because the teacher’s union announced their members will be going on strike on Thursday.
The schools affected are, La Verendrye and Franco-Superieur.
The strike will also affect French schools in Geraldton, Longlac, Ignace, Marathon, Terrace Bay, Red Lake, and Dryden.
The union adds, the one-day strikes will occur weekly.
They have joined the Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario, the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation, and the Ontario English Catholic Teacher’s Association is trying to pressure the Ford government to settle their contract grievances.
