“Forget the grad party”

It’s graduation time.  Convocation ceremonies at colleges / and universities – plus, high school grads happening as well.  This ‘good news story’ comes from Fresno, California. High schooler MyKale Baker….wearing his cap and gown at his high school grad, got his diploma and an award, and then skipped the big ‘grad party’ – so he could fill in for someone at the Burger King he works at.
He originally had the night off, but, they were desperate for help. So, while his friends partied……he worked.  Some of the parents found out about what MyKale Baker did – so they drove over to the restaurant to order some food and acknowledge the fact that he missed his grad party to pick up a shift.
It didn’t go unnoticed.  One of the mother’s started a Go Fund Me page for him…and in the past week, over $200,000 was raised for him. ALL OF IT – going to support his COLLEGE JOURNEY.  AND, over the weekend, The Burger King Foundation handed over a scholarship cheque in the amount of $10,000.  They thanked him for his work ethic and how infectious his personality is….hoping to inspire people in the community.  GREAT JOB.
