First Day of School

Today was a big one for our family. Our son’s first ever day of school. I can’t believe our little guy is in school! Time really does fly. He’s only 3, so he seems so small to be in J.K. The drop off went really well, though! He was really excited and barely lifted his head away from a puzzle to say goodbye to my wife and I! I was mildly insulted.

He was a daycare kid, so he’s used to playing with others in a big group but it was kind of a reality check to see him in such a big school. I know he’s ready for school but it’s kind of a nice security blanket that my sister is a teacher there. She’s been texting me updates all day 🙂

One of the things I didn’t really give to much thought to was making lunches. At daycare they provided lunch and snacks so it was nice to know he’d be eating healthy. Now it’s up to us to make sure he’s got snacks and lunch ready every day. Fortunately my wife is very organized, because I’m not. I’m working on it though. It’s kind of hard to figure out what he will eat every day as well. He’s a little picky! Just like his dad was (for the record, I still won’t eat tomatoes.) I’ve found watching videos like the one below, has given me some good ideas for what to pack for him, and how to keep organized! Now maybe I’ll start packing healthy lunches for myself as well! Sometimes. Maybe. Probably not.
