Fire At North Side Restaurant

The popular Foundry Restaurant at 242 Red River Road was hit by fire in the early hours this morning.

Officials tell us that a laundry hamper with clothing and rags ignited.

Around 4:15 am a person passing by heard an alarm and noticed there was smoke in the building and immediatly called 9-1-1.

Firefighters went into the building with breathing masks and found their way to the source of the fire and quickly doused it.

Damage was confined to the immediate area and nobody was found inside.

Health officials had to inspect the building to make sure the food was not contaminated.

There was light damage and the restaurant was expected to reopen as soon as repairs are completed. (File Photo)
