Financial Relief Expected Days From Applying

If you have applied for federal government assistance through the Canada Emergency Response Benefit, expect to wait three to five days to see the money.

The government says it is working as quickly as possible, since many have seen income drastically reduced due to not being able to work as a result of COVID-19.

Most eligible Canadians will find $2,000 in their bank accounts by the end of next week through direct deposit. The government adds if you have applied for Employment Insurance, you don’t need to apply for this. It’s available to anyone 15 and older, and will provide $500 a week for up to 16 weeks.

If you need more information on the CERB, and can’t get to on-line services, call 1-833-966-2099.
