Woman Dies In Crash Near Marathon

OPP say a 35-year-old woman who was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Highway 17 early this morning has been pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an eastbound 2019 Honda Civic lost control after hitting the east bound shoulder on a corner. The vehicle entered the east bound ditch flipping and landing on its roof.

The driver, a 31-year-old from Guelph, Ontario was sent to hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Two other passengers, one from Guelph, and the other with address unknown, were transported to hospital for treatment of major injuries as well.

No names are being released pending notification of next of kin.
