Fatal Collision Keeps Highway 17 Closed

Update 10:02 pm:

A fatal head-on collision between two tractor-trailer units has closed part of the Trans-Canada highway for over 24 hours now.

Provincial police say they were called to the scene at around 7 o’clock last night on Highway 17, west of Raith.

Police add both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

There is a traffic detour in place from Highway 11 to Highway 622 (exits to Dryden) and Highway 11 to Highway 71 (exits to Kenora).

That is all the information police have provided us with.
