Farewell Mr. Connery

It was pretty shocking to most people I know that Sean Connery passed away over the weekend. I think most of us just assumed he would live forever as some curmudgeonly hermit on a tropical island. Sadly, that wasn’t to be and he passed away in Nassau on Halloween at the age of 90. Back in 1998, the man who may forever be known for his role as James Bond, recorded a song for a George Martin tribute album. George Martin, the legendary producer of The Beatles, not George R.R. Martin the author. The album had a lot of weird songs on it, as I recall. Billy Connolly, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey were amongst the stars on it and I think the Sean Connery track was initial panned as a throwaway. He doesn’t sing so much as recite the lyrics as poetry. Now, in the wake of Mr. Connery’s passing, the song ‘In My Life’ seems a lot more poignant. Check out the song below. Farewell Mr. Connery, thanks for the memories!
