Extreme Cold Snap Upon Us

We are going to be seeing some extremely cold temperatures for the next couple of days.

With wind chills forecast to hit the -40 mark, Environment Canada’s Peter Kimbell agrees it’s something we are not used to this season.

“So we’ll be seeing temperatures of minus 31 overnight which is probably going to be the coldest temperature that we reported yet this winter,” says Kimbell.

The Environment Canada meteorologist says temperatures should moderate on Friday and for the long weekend.

Kimbell notes, “It’s not like a Polar Vortex that we’ve seen in winters past where we have a prolonged cold air mass that lasts for days. This one probably will last for a couple of days and we’ll be bouncing back to normal temperatures.”
