If the city is successful in getting provincial and federal funding, work on the new event centre could be underway by the summer.
City Manager Tim Commisso says first there have to be some formalities city councillors will have to take care of including the approval of the design agreement.
He’s hoping that can be completed in May.
Commisso says then the work will begin to prepare the Water Street property by moving the hydro substation and the bus terminal.
He says while there’ll be a temporary bus terminal set up, the city has budgeted for a permanent facility. (File Photo)
