There’s some concern around the council table about the guaranteed price of the proposed event centre.
In the latest report the price tag comes in at 101 million dollars with an additional 8 million for moving the hydro substation and bus terminal.
Facilities Manager Michael Smith says the price is only guaranteed once they sign a contract with their consultants.
Both Councillors Joe Virdiramo and Mark Bentz were concerned the price could jump if there’s delays in the project.
Council will decide whether or not to proceed to the next phase of the project at it’s September 29th meeting.
If councillors choose to proceed staff will formally ask the Federal and Provincial governments for money. (File photo)
