English Catholic Board Receives More HEPA Air Filters

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board (TBCDSB) now has 20 more HEPA air filters for area schools.

In an email to Acadia News Tuesday, spokesperson Alex Frankow said officials received the stand-alone units in a recent shipment.

Frankow also laid out the ongoing measures in terms of ventilation in the classrooms:

  • Fully automated air quality control systems through Honeywell Solutions for all facilities
  • Demand Control Ventilation used to maintain air quality and automatically adjust spaces in response to changes in conditions, occupant numbers and CO2 levels
  • Full control of heating, ventilation and air systems via remote access
  • Portables are fully equipped with automated air exchangers

The Ministry of Education promised Monday an additional 40,000 filters for school boards and 9,000 to child-care settings.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
