EMS Upgrades & Chief Gates Retiring

Superior North Emergency Services will be getting upgrades soon.

The Administration had recommended that the City approve a request for renovations to the hub.

A contract worth more than $680,000 was awarded to Whitehall Contractors to expand two locker rooms and infill on the second floor over the warehouse space.

No details yet on when the work will start.

After addressing Council, EMS Chief Wayne Gates announced his retirement. He’s been with the service for the past 35 years. and has been Chief for the last seven.

He’ll be retiring at the end of this year.
