A local man who runs a business that utilizes floatplanes thinks electric planes are the way of the future.
Alan Cheeseman, the president of Wilderness North notes the successful test flight of an E-plane in British Columbia could mean potential savings for his business in the future.
He says the de Havilland Beaver which was used in the test was in the air for less than an hour, and such flights are normal for his business.
Cheeseman has a fleet of 11 planes including the de Havilland Beaver and de Havilland Otter.
The business owner the first electric plane flight in Canada is exciting and fitting since the de Havilland is “a Canadian engineering marvel.”
