A recent survey by Nutram Pet Products indicates about 7 out of 10 dog owners thank their pets for their overall good health and fitness.
Half of the respondants indicated they walked their dog an hour a day, everyday.
Professional dog trainer Gillian Ridgeway says people in Thunder Bay have plenty of areas in which to get out with their pets and exercise such as Boulevard Lake.
The survey also pointed out that dogs require a minimum of 30-minutes to an hour of exercise a day.
