Do You Wanna Build A Snowman….Again?

Around my place the movie Frozen has sparked a thousand off key singalongs, mostly with changed or butchered lyrics. When the movie itself is actually on though, it has (usually) put three little butts into seats and sparked some anxious ‘HELP HER!’ shouts despite knowing the outcome. Honestly I was skeptical of the movie at first, I assumed it wasn’t going to be enjoyable and would disappear into the Disney depths of lore, much the same way The Dark Cauldron did. Boy was I ever wrong! The movie still comes up regularly in conversation among kids and adults, the songs still pop into my head and…I am pretty excited about the sequel. Part of my excitement comes from the fact that I am friends with a group of people who want to go on opening night with their kids and have everyone dress in costume. I think my middle son would totally be in to it and I’ve been considering joining in. It could be a lot of fun for all of us and if the trailer is any indication, I think Disney has another hit on their hands. Likely another reason to get the Disney+ streaming channel at my place as well.

I know it’s become a little overblown, Elsa and Anna have been everywhere for years now but I’ve managed to keep my kids away from wanting all the Frozen themed toys and goods so I’m not burnt out on it. Yet. What about you? Are you going to go see the new Frozen movie in theaters or are you done with Disney princesses?

Check out the trailer for Frozen 2 below!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
