Student debt in the country is through the roof.
The Canadian Federation of Students says it’s impacting their ability after graduation to find jobs, buy homes and contribute to the economy.
Deputy Chair Bilan Arte says it’s becoming a crisis, and that it’s making it very difficult for recent grads to start their lives. But the federal government and unversities continue to ignore the problem.
She says because of the growing debt problem, 42 percent of young adult grads end up living at home with their parents. That’s up 15 percent in 30 years.
