Death Inquest Of Gabriel McKay

A date is set to examine the details that led to the death of 36-year-old Gabriel McKay.

McKay died in hospital on Nov. 6, 2017, from injuries he sustained while working at a construction site in Thunder Bay.

The inquest, which will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, is expected to last two days, and the court will hear from about four witnesses.

Dr. Steven Bodley is the presiding officer and Andrew Sadler will be inquest counsel.

An inquest is mandatory under the Ontario Coroners Act.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
