Crime Against Elders investigation leads to manslaughter charges

A 58-year-old Thunder Bay resident faces manslaughter charges as a result of an assault earlier this month.

The Thunder Bay Police’s Crime Against Elders officer began the investigation following the assault at an assisted living facility on February 4th.

Two weeks later, on February 18th, the victim, an 81-year-old from Thunder Bay died in hospital.

As a result of the investigation, manslaughter charges have been laid.

The suspect has been released from custody pending a future court date.
