There were no injuries but a north side garage sustained extensive damage and a collapsed roof.
Crews were called out and needed six pumpers and a command unit to douse the smoke and flames around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the house on Peter Street.
Firefighters were able to contain the damage to just the garage of the property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
