The premier is once again insisting that COVID-19 vaccines won’t be mandatory for kids and teachers to return to the classroom.
Doug Ford has been adamant that he wants to see as many doses administered as possible for in-class learning to resume safely this fall.
He emphasizes getting vaccinated has had a visible effect on the province’s COVID-19 case numbers.
“You look at our long-term care homes. You look at the cases coming down. You look at the ICU numbers coming down,” Ford says. “So, it’s going in a positive trend because the vaccinations. They work. Do I believe [in] enforcing anyone taking them? No, I don’t.”
Instead, Ford says over the summer break he will continue to encourage and educate people on the importance of getting your shot.
