COVID-19 Claims Another Southbridge Life

Another person has died of COVID-19 at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home.

The Thunder Bay District Health unit reported the death Wednesday, which brings the total death toll to 17 at the home.

The health unit also says there is one new case of the virus, that individual is from the Thunder Bay area.

That person got it through close contact with someone else already with it.

Locally there are 75 active cases of COVID-19.

To date, Thunder Bay’s health unit has had 580 cases since March, with no one currently in hospital.

The Northwestern Health Unit is also dealing with one death, and 19 active cases.

Province wide another record when it comes to new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus.

2,923 in total and 19 deaths, including 12 among long-term care home residents.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
