Death At Southbridge, Outbreak At Jail

Another day of sobering news concerning COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay district.

There’s been another resident death at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home. According to its website, the death toll stands at 21, with six staff infections.

Also, a staggering 18 new cases of COVID-19 for the Thunder Bay district Wednesday.

The health unit says 14 of those are from an outbreak at the district jail.

And, one of them is at Southbridge. Two others are from close contact with another infected person, and one is not known.

The current active case load stands at 84, with two resolved.

The health unit adds three are in hospital, two at the ICU.

So far, there have been 689 people infected since last March.
