COVID-19 Claims Another Life

Another resident of Southbridge Roseview long-term care home has died of COVID-19.

The sad news of the 20th death was revealed on the company’s website.

The latest count of active resident cases is 7, while there are 6 staff members positive.

However, the overall active case load reported by Thunder Bay’s District Health unit just dropped to 48 Wednesday morning.

This comes as it records 6 new cases, four of those getting the virus from someone else, and 2 while travelling outside the region.

17 people previously diagnosed have had their cases put into the resolved category.

The latest information on the health unit’s website shows 621 total infections since March, with 22 deaths.

Four are in hospital, one in Intensive Care.

There are 3,266 new cases in Ontario, Wednesday.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
