City Councillor Rebecca Johnson is continuing her crusade to get the Chippewa Park Zoo closed.
Johnson is putting a motion forward tonight looking to get the exact costs of closing the wildlife exhibit. If Johnson’s motion passes, it asks that a report come back to city council before the 2016 budget.
Council is expected to ratify the 2015 budget tonight.
It was already approved in principal in February. Johnson says she doesn’t see the budget being ratified with the proposed 4.6 percent hike in the tax levy. Many councillors have said they’re hoping to see an increase of just 3 per cent. (File photo)
