Council Hears Plan For West Arthur St. Subdivision

City council got a first look at a proposed nine-unit subdivision in the area of West Arthur Street, on the west side of 20th Side Road and north of Lacewood Drive.

Engineering Consultant for Copper Crescent Holdings, Adam Rose, was part of a deputation bringing the draft plan for the project to city lawmakers.

A number of neighbours spoke up with worries about flooding of their backyards worsening because of the subdivision, but Rose maintains they’ll make sure the project doesn’t cause any problems.

“The design that’s in place right now actually looks to capture that water and drain it away from the site, so we think that the current design actually will reduce the potential for impacts backing onto the lots that are currently backing onto this proposed subdivision,” Rose told Councillors.

The plan will come back to City Council for further consideration in mid-September. (File Photo)
