The City is earmarking an extra 700-thousand dollars for winter road clearing.
Councillor Rebecca Johnson was concerned that they were making the decision on behalf of the new council that will be formed after the October election.
Infrastructure Manager Darrell Matson cleared up any confusion saying that the money would be for consideration in the 2015 budget season and not necessarily spent.
Matson says they want the money because the past several winters caused them to go over budget due to unexpected snowfalls in the spring. (File photo)
