Concerns With Hand Sanitizers Prompt Recall

With hand sanitizer being a hot commodity due to COVID-19, the last thing anyone needs is a recall of certain brands.

Health concerns have prompted Health Canada to recall brands including X-Pure Vert-2-Go, Tidol, Smart Care, Protectenol and Gel 700.

The agency says they contain industrial-grade ethanol which hasn’t been authorized for use in hand sanitizers.

Officials say frequent use of these products may result in dry skin, causing irritation or cracking.

Health Canada recalled five other hand sanitizer products for the same reason over the weekend.
