After six months there seems to be satisfaction with the city’s new integrity commissioner and the code of conduct he polices.
Councillor Mark Bentz admits he and other councillors have used the commissioner to try to stay on the straight and narrow.
Bentz tells us since he sits on other boards, he has “touched base” with Commissioner Brian Tario to see if there is anything he (Bentz) should be aware of.
He says he has “not heard anything negative” about the commissioner adding he has heard only “positive comments”.
The process also allows you to lodge a complaint with the commissioner if you feel the code of conduct has been breached.
Tario himself is keeping quiet since he is not allowed to tell us is how many requests from councillor or complaints from the public he has received.
