City police are warning local businesses about an ongoing scam.
The police service’s Economic Crime Unit has received reports of businesses receiving telephone calls where the caller is attempting to make fraudulent credit card purchases.
The caller claims to be from a different business and provides fraudulent credit card numbers to make the purchases.
Police are reminding businesses to follow proper procedures when taking credit card purchase orders over the phone.
