In an effort to attract new businesses to the Thunder Bay International Airport property the city is proposing a tax incentive.
City spokesperson Leslie McEachern explains the development must be specific to the needs of the aircraft industry.
She states if a developer is looking at setting up a business at the airport for aerospace-related activity “that development would be eligible for a tax rebate for up to 25 years.”
McEachern indicates aircraft maintenance hangers and food storage warehouses would be on that list of approved businesses.
City councillors will be looking at the proposal at their November 18th
