Another big year for Christmas Cheer

Acadia Broadcasting’s 36 Hours of Cheer marathon fundraiser raised over $232,000.

Announcers from 99.9 The Bay and Country 105 were on the air from 6am Thursday morning to 6pm Friday evening raising money for the Christmas hamper program.

An exciting power hour on Friday morning with Impala Canada helped boost a big day Friday with a staggering $18,580 raised in one hour, of which $7,000 was contributed by Impala.

Funds raised during 36 Hours of Cheer go to the Christmas Cheer Fund, which aims to fill hungry bellies over the Christmas holidays.

Among some of the larger donations, dropped off staff from Shoppers Drug Mart wrote a cheque for $20,000 while Tbaytel, Fort William Rotary and Intercity Industrial each contributed $10,000.
