The gates to Chippewa Park’s Wildlife Exhibit won’t open this weekend, simply because they can’t.
City Parks Manager Paul Fayrick says a watermain that runs behind the exhibit flooded in front of the main gates to the zoo earlier in the week, and now they’re frozen shut. Fayrick adds the animals are all fine, and, despite dropping temperatures, they’re not finding it too cold outside.
Operations at the exhibit are expected to resume in time for next weekend.
