Out of an abundance of care for the Chippewa Park carousel ride, it has closed for the season.
After much time was spent refurbishing the horses for outdoor use, city workers noticed there were deteriorations on the carousel that exceeded normal wear and tear.
The ride has been in operation since at least 1934, and is one of three known carousel rides that were crafted by C.W Parker dating back to 1915.
The carousel ride is expected to open again in 2023.
