The push is on to save the Chippewa Park Wildlife Exhibit from city budget cuts. Councillor Rebecca Johnson is leading the charge to axe the funding.
Lorraine Lortie-Krawczuk, of the Friends of Chippewa Park, says the organization is hoping to get public support through an online petition on Facebook.
They’re also hoping people visit the zoo on the long weekend to see what it’s really all about.
Lortie-Krawczuk says they are disappointed the issue is coming up again, but is confident they can get the support to save it.
